- This is the most complete roster of WBL players that I've been able to
compile. To keep the project manageable, I've limited the list to
players who were on a WBL roster for at least one regular-season
game. The information
is derived from media guides, newspaper articles, official scorers' reports, programs, interviews,
college archives, and other sources. It's not as easy
as it might sound. Records are scattered, and turnover in the league
was high. For example, one WBL team went through 22
players during the first season. Some players appeared in only one regular
season game; others saw action for up to four different teams in one
season.
-
- The list contains name, school, WBL team(s), and the season(s) in
which the player was on the roster for at least one regular-season game. Purple highlighting means
that either I have spoken with
the player or I think I know her recent whereabouts.
Green highlighting means that the player is
deceased.
-
- I have not included current names, residences or e-mail addresses. If you were affiliated
with the WBL and are looking to renew old acquaintances, or if you can help make
this roster more accurate or complete, please e-mail
me. Karra Porter, Salt Lake City
